yea its a big deal in the industry over here in the u.s. ....im currently taking auto tech classes and the instructor was explaining the gravity and the brazenness of the situation....they literally hack the smog check machine lol

It's a funny thing though. I get that it's a big deal for the company, and especially for the people making the rules, but I, as a consume, does not care one bit about it. As long as my car runs fine, I couldn't care less about how much it pollutes. And my old Golf certainly ran well.
