Magnus On The Sport Relief Mile Show BBC1

Did anyone just see Magnus dressed as Sportacus on The Sport Relief Mile Show on BBC 1? he was getting hold of little children's hands and running with them and running the mile

    Edit:
He hung on a lamppost and done a talk at the end as himself

That hand-stand flip thing he does in the ad Akallabeth has posted is awesome. You begin to get used to the stunts, but the acrobatics are amazing.

Did you have to run the whole mile ? That's a long way. What was it in aid of ?

Cool stuff. It looks like Sport Relief helps Comic Relief, which helps people in poverty all over the world.

the presenter made me laugh just before maggi ran, he said everbodys expecting you to run this in 35 seconds, maggi just laughed LOL!!!

It would've been nice to have known about this... oh, I don't know... maybe before it happened.

                          *glares*

I didn't read that blog because it was too damn long, so I could be wrong, I could be right.
I could be black, I could be white. But enough about that...

I reckon Magnus wouldn't have run the thing straight from start to finish, but maybe weaved his way through the crowd, doubling back on himself at parts, so he could run with all of the kiddies somewhat personally.

                          Or maybe not. :|

                          Anyway, more goodies!
And I don't mean Bill Oddie or Tim Brooke Taylor, either.

Re: Magnus On The Sport Relief Mile Show BBC1

Hi (from the person that wrote that blog)

Thank you for checking out my blog. For those that were curious about whether Sportacus ran the mile more than once assuming he must have been running back on himself, he didn't. Basically when the race started he was at the front with all the little kids, so he was running quite slowly and he kept stopping to do handstands, press-ups with little kids on his back, hanging off sign posts, saying hello to all the little kids, signing autographs and having photos taken. We ran with him for quite a while, but eventually he was stopping for too long so me and my daughter ran on. We saw him come across the finish line after us, he was running slowly holding some little kids hands which was really sweet. So the answer is, as far as I can tell he only ran the mile once but as he was running slowly so that the little kids could keep up and kept stopping, that's why he did it so slowly.

Once he crossed the finishing line I saw him sprint off, now that was fast.

Overall though, he came across as such an utterly lovely guy, anyone happy to run a mile like that, knowing that everyone is going to want to talk to him and see him do Sportacus things and being as happy as anything to stop and say hello to everyone, well they're a complete and utter star.

                              J.

PS There had been a clip running on CBeebies for weeks with him saying he was going to do the race, that's why we signed up.
