    Lazytown in trouble...

    http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/ne ... -axed.html

    It’s... Poortacus

KIDS' favourite LazyTown is facing financial meltdown - with its Icelandic bosses owing Ł15MILLION.

The crisis could see the BBC children's show, featuring fitness-mad character Sportacus, axed.

Bondholders are taking legal action to retrieve the vast sum, which may lead to the bankruptcy of LazyTown Entertainment.

The TV series was a surprise hit when it launched in 2004 and is now screened in 100 countries. It encourages kids to eat well and do more exercise.

A case over the debts is due in court in Iceland next month.

Executives at LazyTown - including gymnastics champ Magnus Scheving, who stars as Sportacus - have held crisis talks to save the company.

Mr Scheving, 45, insisted most bondholders had agreed to loans being repaid in "the next few years"

And I thought LTE was safe, even after the financial crisis... :( If it collapses, no channels will be showing it- let's all buy LT stuff!

I have an idea- why don't we all chip in and give a little bit to LTE? Since the merch situation is NOT improving and the company is losing valuable money from channels cancelling the show, we should all band together and give a little bit ;)

I would if I knew for sure it would help - if there were enough other people doing the same to make some sort of impact on their finances. I would feel awful if I donated money in vain...

I don't really know what to say about this, except... there's always a way!

Shows and companies have been saved through massive organized fan support.

Someone with connections needs to get in touch and ask them who we should target for a letter writing and support campaign.

SOS - SAVE OUR SHOW! - UPDATE

UPDATE: LTE has asked us to hold on until the official statement has been released. So we have to wait and see.

I am proposing to help coordinate a massive letter writing and support campaign for Lazytown to help advocate on LTE's behalf. If the fan community shows it's support and care for Lazytown it can help buy Maggi some time and help them negotiate the debt by providing leverage.

Other shows and organizations have had a LOT of success through these techniques.

I need to know which organizations specifically LTE/Maggi wants us to contact. We have to coordinate this and make it fair, polite and professional. No rants. No swearing. We will use the principles of LT to guide us to action.

I will compose form letters and if someone could translate them, it would be great.

GO GO FANS!!! WE CAN SAVE LAZYTOWN! GO GO - WE'RE NOT LAZY FANS!

its says it COULD be axed, it hasn't been axed as yet, ive just watched it on cbeebies, depending on the court case next month theres a chance it will be.

                          poor maggi :-(

Yes, remember it's a COULD - the court case hasn't even happened yet so we can cling, at least for a little while, to the hope that it will go in favour of LTE.
