    4) Have you played through the Stingy and Mayor scene in its entirety without skipping around? Then did you let it play through to the end of the next Sportacus scene without skipping as well? Did you do this multiple times for confirmation
    1) tryout revision 2210.
    2) 1.8.5
    3) Yes. I use coreAVC by default under MPC, with Zoom Player configured for ffdshow for quick swapping between decoders. (much quicker to simply run the file in another application than to change application settings each time.)
    4) Twice. What I have noticed is that there is some frames missing from the Sportacus logo, I've dared to theorize that your player may interpret that as the end of the stream. (yes, missing, not dropped. Try skipping frame by frame if you need confirmation)

    Hope that's helpful. Oh, specs:

    AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4600+ 2,4 GHz - CPU
ATI Radeon X1950 PRO 512 MB DDR3 - Graphics Card
Lossless trance collection. (Work in progress)

Thanks! This is the first time anyone has ever answered my questions directly in this format (1,2,3, and 4)! I see that I am running an older version of ffdshow: tryout revision 2033. I was afraid of mentioning the full name before for fear of confusing people. Thanks for the version info for CoreAVC too, it's a good starting point.

That's pretty interesting that you can do that with two different players. Now that you talk about it, I know of a way to get that done since ffdshow asks to be used during certain times. So I would just have to replicate that in the options.

Thanks for the exact details on the playback, often times people run away from me when I give out full details on programs and stuff. It makes me quite happy to see someone else giving out detailed information on a process. :) Adding on to your theory, it's possible my version of ffdshow is viewing information it does not understand, so it crashes. If it saw the video as the end, it would not have crashed but rather just ended. Same with VLC Media Player, I'm running an old version of that too. You wouldn't happen to know anything about AviSynth? That's what I was using when trying to test stuff out. Unfortunately, skipping around would not work with DirectShowSource so I couldn't go there and go frame-by-frame. Which is what encoding should have done anyways, and that goes back to ffdshow (old).

I will attempt to use MPC to go frame-by-frame. My first test didn't go so well because of my low specs. No crashing, just major lag. Skipping did not resume within 30 seconds (initial test), so I decided to quit and try it again later.

Alright, I update ffdshow and got the newer Matroska Splitter (Haali Media Splitter) and the video works now, It no longer freezes and I was able to make an encode. However, a problem does creep up. Right after the Sportacus scene, a strange video error happens which causes the rest of the video to go out of sync. This happens right around 1:51.280. Does this happen for anyone else?

Here's an example screenshot from a 480x270 encode:

Did not notice that until now! I get an identical error.

Thanks! Good to know I'm not the only one getting it. I already deleted my files too! So I might have to start things over if I ever run another test. This does make me wonder if it is possible to add in silence into a AC3 file without causing an audio error. I'll have to try that later though.
