I just woke up from a dream that I clicked on a suspicious link and got a virus that was bricking my computer and I was desperately trying to save my lazytown files.
That counts as computer talk, right?

I keep procrastinating. Lazy. heh That's it though it's time to nuke the install and reinstall windows 11. Oh joy. ๐
I'm backing up the entire drive. Document folder. Download folder. Etc. everything. So there's no room for forgetting anything. I have a good portion already on backup anyway but just using one empty drive so I don't have to go searching. The important shoops are on multiple backups this time around as well. But that's going on this drive as well. The download folder is the big one. Didn't realize how much space it was taking up 180 gigs egads heh. Should have started earlier backing that one up. Got all browser bookmarks in a text file was well and will used that to add them back in the brave.
oh forgot to mention last night I got one of the blue screens when shutting down the computer. That happens every now and again as well. Kmode Exception Not Handled. I looked that up last night and it involves drivers. Which is the cause of this re-install anyway.
Going to flash the bios too. it's been a while and they have a few security fixes since. The latest is still on beta: Added security issue of SMM Lock Bypass uCode fix aka โSinkcloseโ. The one before that which is not beta: Fixed CVE-2024-36877 security issue. CVE-2024-36877 is a security vulnerability affecting Micro-Star International (MSI) motherboards, particularly those using specific firmware versions and chipsets. The vulnerability, a "write-what-where" condition in the SW handler for SMI 0xE3, allows for potential unintended firmware modifications. The one in beta has been sitting around since September hmmm.
AMD Issues Updates for Silicon-Level 'SinkClose' Processor Flaw. The vulnerability has been around for nearly 20 years and gives sophisticated attackers a way to bury virtually undetectable bootkits on devices with EPYC and Ryzen microprocessors. The "SinkClose" vulnerability, as IOActive researchers have dubbed it, is somewhat similar to "Memory Sinkhole," an SMM-bypass vulnerability in Intel Sandy Bridge and prior processors that security researcher Christopher Domas disclosed at a Black Hat presentation in 2015. Domas has also uncovered other hardware level vulnerabilities in Intel chips.Comment

Interesting. From forum threads I had the impression they removed whatever it was you could remove for the online user requirement. Or they were about to.
As far as disabling the other requirements, I have read sysadmins say if you do that, the system will not automatically update itself for major releases, you have to manually update them and bypass the requirement again somehow.l i t t l e

I'm assuming you are referring to the Microsoft account. I read that also a while back.
I do have an MS account anyway but like to stay logged out. I'll log back in if there's
an issue with a major update.
All this just to get to this point
Flight controller working fine and the drivers and software installed fine too.
This cropped up again before I began even installing the browser, graphics drivers and the flight controller
Can't believe that issue still exists
I fixed and cleaned it up and so far it hasn't cropped back up yet.
I do the periodic chkdsk and sfc /scannow in the Admin level command prompt.
Anyway there's even a more deeper removal installer other than using that Rufus option
I showed.

I did the Beta Bios and all seems good. Now the bios is up to date from 2022 to 2024. It was actually quite easy using the Bios M-Flash all from the Bios itself.
Reinstalling has commenced. RIP old install.
All those 680+ unknown devices are gone. Now the fun begins reinstalling all motherboard drives etc...
Just to let yas know I got a blue screen right at the begining of the windows 11 install. I didn't have my camera ready and I as I was grabbing for it I was too late it shut down and I didn't make note of the error Wundows 11!!!!! It rebooted and the next attempt went fineComment

I left my TPM on again after the Bios update anyway. I didn't really need to click

As long as you follow the instructions, you'll be fine. The only thing that can really brick it is a power outage
right in the middle of the bios update. Do the bios updates have security fixes?
Another thing I've been doing for a while. Updating Bioses. I had updated my previous
motherboard's Bios. The updates had stop after a while. Think it was around 2012.
Understandable. Since that motherboard was from 2009-2022.
