I did know that, but just because a character's name has a subtext doesn't mean its text doesn't matter.
EG, Robbie's surname is Rotten, but just because it's descriptive doesn't mean we can't reasonably assume that wasn't also the surname of at least one of his parents.

My point was that the names really don't seem to be racialy accurate.

For me, Trixie is the scariest of the puppets. She looks just like a creepy Cabbage Patch doll I had when I was little. *shudder*

Anyway...maybe she's only half Asian. Half Asian, half...um...puppet? heh

Well, Trixie can be a scary puppet at times. But then, other times, she fits in perfectly. Just check out her scenes in Dancing Duel.

But to be honest, I really hate that white/red shirt she wears.

That shirt is indeed weird. It has a drawing of herself. I mean, what kind of person wears something like that...? :|

Maybe she is half an Asian and half a Western...

                  My two cents
She's Caucasian, but has slanted eyes, which is very much real. Especially in the Nordics (just look at Björk)

Trixie is supposed to look Asian because she is Asian.

                    https://articles.lazytown.eu/2004/03...comes-to-life/
Various changes have been made to the Icelandic Latibær. Goggi mega has a dark skin, Halla hrekkjusvín is Asian and Siggi sæti is Swedish. Guðmundur Þór Kárason directs Siggi and lends him his voice.

                    International Lazytown
After testing LazyTown in Iceland, the group decided that it was time to introduce the product abroad in 2002. “Before that, however, we had to make some changes in view of the fact that we were going to a foreign market. We designed a new costume for Sportacus to make him look like a superhero, Trixie became Asian, Pixel became dark skinned, Ziggy was Swedish and so on.
                    https://articles.lazytown.eu/2004/03...the-town-gate/
Among the changes that have taken place in the original idea is that Goggi mega has a dark skin, Halla hrekkjusvín is Asian and Siggi is Swedish.

Nice summery. I think the question has been answered sufficiently now.
Magnús: - I have fans of all ages and I don't think it's weird when older people like LazyTown. LazyTown appeals to people for many different reasons: dancing, acrobatics, etc.

I'm assuming Magnus did, or at least the writers of the article

Magnús was quoted in the second linked article. So I assume that the writers of the other articles also got their information from Magnús, and did not interpret it themselves. After translating and writing all the other articles I can only confirm that this is almost always the case.
