Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

I think we all knew this topic would soon come.

I'm reading it right now, and by that, I mean a legally bought version. It's very good so far - I'd recommend it to all of you.

This thread is for discussion about HP7.

    Not spoilers.

... its not funny anymore when you book nerds start recommending the book. Its been out for a week on the internet, which is like an eternity in internets time. I can just imagine Cicley furiously fapping while he rushes through the book as we speak, trying to divulge the book in one sitting so that nobody can ruin it for him. hot damn!

It takes approximately seven hours to read the book straight through if you read at a moderate pace while absorbing everything. I just finished, and I haven't slept in 24 hours. Wheeeeeee!

All I'm going to say is: some of the deaths upset me, Molly Weasley kicks ass, a few of my favorite fan predictions turned out to be right, and I'm very happy with Severus Snape. The epilogue kinda stinks though. WTF is up with those names?
I seriously need a new sig. Will try Photoshop later.

Yeah, they're really bad. I would have also liked to know more about what the various characters did after the evens in the book. The epilogue is only about the relationships really. Did Harry ebcome an Auror or maybe a professional Quidditch player? And what kind of jobs did Ron and Hermione get? Who became headmaster at Hogwarts?

Overall I liked the book though. I think most people saw the Snape revelation thing coming.

So this is actually the reason why the forums been so dry the past week? I thought it could have been cause zafa is on holiday and CJ has been playing xbox since his birthday but no. Its a worldwide effort for everyone to stay away from the internets so that the book isn't spoiled for them. Well, I feel a little relieved I guess, atleast I know now its not because I smell...

                Yeah, um, I read books.
Just not Harry Potter yet. I think I may check out the first book from the library today.

My sister read the first ten chapters on the first day. Maybe bit excessive, considering she got the book at midnight.

Umm...how is that excessive? She got the book at midnight...so she had from 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM on that first day to read ten chapters, which is only a few hours of reading.

Doesn't seem that excessive to me.

Sorry, I meant she read ten chapters after midnight before going to bed.

I chose a borders with a tight enclosed parking lot, knowing that the chances of a drive-by-spoiling would be almost impossible. If anyone had been stupid enough to do so the crowd of Harry Potter fans would have devoured them instantly. I made my way in to the book store at roughly midnight with earplugs, in case of a suicide spoil, and purchased my copy which had be reserved months in advance.

I broke up the reading into several sittings, so I could thoroughly savor every moment leading to the tantalizing conclusion.

I am in a state of total satiety, much seed has been spilled.
