    Re: Diary of a madman!

Well, I FINALLY started making him, so far not too good.
Consider it a very, VERY rough sketch:

I'll work from the top down, so the next step once I'm done with the texturing and mapping of the hair will be the devices, then the face (I will be stuck for AGES there! :( ), then the rest of the body.

I can send you the scene on request, jedi.

      The hair looks great already.

I'll be working on the trim and the wings tonight and tomorrow. With any luck, I might just get them all done tonight. I took another break hehe.

        Re: Diary of a madman!

Haven't been working on it much. Decided to do the trim work first again. Think I know for sure now how I'm going to do that. Hope to get some new pics out tonight (early morning) hehe.

          You, sir, are an hero.

So how's it coming along, or did you just give up a month ago?

Oh well, I'm busting to get working on this model again but still waiting for my power supply so I can get my new rig up and running. Got the old rig on a bare windows install no sense in going all out with everything yet.

                    Re: Diary of a madman!

Hey, here's a question for you Mr. Jedi, sir (and Mr. Gaz, assuming he hasn't given up on Pixel).
Seeing as you put so much effort into making the airship texture look so good...

Will you be going for the fuzzy puppet skin, or are you thinking along the lines of "the puppets are meant to be representations of people anyway", and therefore will be equipping them with a texture that is closer to the human hide?

Well, the file was saved on my now fried C drive, so at the moment I've given up.

Soon my friends soon I'll be back into my kick butt mode on this. Already a week lost on getting this new system up and running. I was also working rather juggling on a presentation for the doctor I work for for an upcoming lecture he has this coming week while trying to get this system up. Simply fun I tell you the pressure! :)

Well thank you again and her as well. I'm almost there. I installed the latest Adobe premiere and 3d max last night. All that's left for me to install now is the latest Photoshop which I'm going to do in a little bit. Then it's back to the modeling grind stone. :)

Phew that was a close one. With the new computer and leaving my old cd burner out. I messed up the drive letter assignments and the new max9 was looking for my textures and things in the then J: drive. Luckily I had installed a hex editor and went through the save file changing the J: to E: and it worked. Woot. This is the first render with all the new equipment and it went dang fast. Now that everything is back in place and where it belongs, off to do the trim work.

Don't worry about the quality of that image. I used a more compressed jpeg this time to keep the file size down and it looks kind of nuked.

It does look a bit funky around the edges, but even so, it still looks great.
