I must be confused or something about the holiday thingy. September holidays is like Spring break for the Americans (but it lasts for about 2 weeks I think). December - January is the summer holidays (it lasts for a month) 🤔.

Anyways apart from that, September holidays are in a week for me. But I usually get 2 days early off due to it being the last 2 days of week 10 (sometimes I get 3 days off early but I can’t this term). Next term due to February being short or something I get 11 weeks of school instead of 10 😭.

The correct answer is the Earth is closer to the sun during your (Southern Hemisphere) summer. That makes the Earth closer
to the sun during our winter. It would be little more brutal here if it was reversed like your part of the hemisphere.
