Computer talk OS Windows Linux MAC

    Software

5:41 About time. I never understood why Windows gaming was still putting the majority of the burden on CPU than the GPU.
Windows Direct Storage 2.0 seems to tackle that issue. Hmmm, where's 1.0. Have to go look. Might be in the 23h2.
I'm still waiting for those updates still stuck on 22h2.

Also Sudo more copying Linux. At least come up with a unique name.

Maybe I'll keep sticking with Windows 11 22h2

2:08 so it is a confirmation if you strip the Recall from the Windows install,
you won't get the updated File Explorer as well.

    Recall on every PC

This is what I get when I run that powershell command

    PS C:\Windows\system32> DISM /Online /Get-FeatureInfo /FeatureName:Recall

Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool
    Version: 10.0.22621.2792

    Image Version: 10.0.22621.4317

    Error: 0x800f080c

    Feature name Recall is unknown.
A Windows feature name was not recognized.
Use the /Get-Features option to find the name of the feature in the image and try the command again.

The DISM log file can be found at C:\Windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log
    I am Recall free!!!

Good to know. It's probably a feature in 24h2.

Yeah 24h2 + exclusive. Doesn't look fully fleshed out either.

I'm also thinking about switching to Linux (mint) because the snooping with Windows 11 is annoying (forced account, recall function).

Pretty much the sentiment across the board. The upside to Microshaft shenanigans is
it's going to bump Linux up on the market share list. Linux will be seeing boosts in
development that will no doubt exceed Windblows

Yeah, I should have done this thread myself. My brain has been on sleep mode lately. 😄

When I was using POP OS, I was able to install Gothic 2 pc game from 2002 and got it running with no issues and
        it ran fine.

Most steam games with proton too. Just have to install Wine on the linux first. I really only need
the Windows for the Adobe Suite but I've been too lazy in getting around to all that.
Setting up a VM (Virtual Machine) on Linux and installing Windows and adobe suite on that.

I'm really liking this one so I'll probably be doing that Linux distro.
        It so much like windows.

Oh and Linux has been gaining market share in the OS market.
With Microsoft and its shenanigans getting people mad.

Zorin Pro version is listed as $47.99

That's the other one I forgot for gaming. Lutris (open gaming platform).
How could I forget that. I think it was Lutris I had gotten Gothic 2 to run under.

          Gaming on Linux using ZorinOS
He brings up Pop OS as a comparison which was the Linux distro I had been using.
I've used this guys video before for something. He's the one with the craft beer heh
          Craft Computing

Oh the craft beer review is at 12:25

And this feature in the below video is pretty cool. I was trying to remember what video I saw that in.
Anyway, when you switch to dark mode it also changes the desktop image to night time.

8:53 the change to dark mode
