I don't count movie trailers as TV ads, otherwise I'd have a few favorites to post, but that was a good one. Somebody made a creative decision to sell the feel of the movie rather than an uninspired montage of clips. Actually got my heart racing a little. I busted out laughing when I saw the clip of her her notoriously tiny panties - of course they had to throw that in there. I once heard someone say there should be movie trailer awards, and I agree.

Hey sex and horror are a pretty popular mix.

Pretty sure this is what inspired the movie Tremors. (See I snuck a trailer in there)

I realized after I went to bed that my post made no sense. I was conflating two Mythos authors, Ramsey Campbell and Brian Lumley.

Pepsi and Coke used to have good commercials in the 1970s. Pepsi had the "puppies" one and Coke had the "song" one. Everybody always paid attention when those came on.

This Pepsi ad was showed to us in school as an example of good advertising.

I hate all three of those. They co-opt a feel good message (puppies, world peace) and poison it by using it to sell a product. To me it feels like uncanny valley. A nice message that has ulterior motives.

              That one made me laugh.

It only doesn't make sense if you knew what you were talking about in the first place. Of course I'd never heard of either of those authors. I should probably read more.

                I love tremors, though.

Well I mentioned Ramsey Campbell and then posted a book cover showing its author was Brian Lumley.

Yeah Tremors was a great movie. I have 4 of them on DVD.

I alway loved seeing the meerkat in this company’s commercials when I was younger. The simple tagline at end is now engraved in my mind forever. I was also fascinated by the cgi animation for a flu medication commercial. That used multiple blue guys with a bandage on their head but couldn’t find those commercials anywhere now. They were advertised everywhere in the chemist and stuff in Australia back in mid 2010’s

Aw yeah I haven't seen a few of these ads in a while. Why is Australian telly taking all the iconic ads of the air??
