    Nice 80s song

Magnús: - I have fans of all ages and I don't think it's weird when older people like LazyTown. LazyTown appeals to people for many different reasons: dancing, acrobatics, etc.

        We all know fata morgana
        She keeps herself to herself
She likes the sound of explosions
You know - some people need nothing else

She has a volatile nature -
        Moves in a dangerous way
        All the creatures around her:
They keep quiet, or she blows them away

        They sing:
        WHA DIDDLE IDDLE I DOH
        DOWN HERE - THE UNDERWATERBOYS...
        Singing
        WHA DIDDLE IDDLE I DOH
        DOWN HERE - THE UNDERWATERBOYS...

        There's always fast talking Jonny
He used to get so ill
He spent a while in the country
Now he's clean and serene but he can't stand still

        Little Nick wasn't happy -
        He felt sick inside
One day he jumped from the window
Into the arms of a Wagnerian bride

        Singing
        WHA DIDDLE IDDLE I DOH
        DOWN HERE - THE UNDERWATERBOYS...
        Singing
        WHA DIDDLE IDDLE I DOH
        DOWN HERE - THE UNDERWATERBOYS...

And then there's old Uncle Charlie -
        He don't speak any more
He lives one side of a mirror,
A refugee from the chemical wars

        A critical disposition -
He likes to eat his own hands
        His principle motivation
Is a special secretion from a secret gland

        He sings:
        WHA DIDDLE IDDLE I DOH
        DOWN HERE - THE UNDERWATERBOYS...
        Singing
        WHA DIDDLE IDDLE I DOH
        DOWN HERE - THE UNDERWATERBOYS...
        Singing
        WHA DIDDLE IDDLE I DOH
        DOWN HERE - THE UNDERWATERBOYS...
        Singing
        WHA DIDDLE IDDLE I DOH
        DOWN HERE - THE UNDERWATERBOYS...

No matter where I go. I end up hearing 80s music. Some street vendor with a boombox had this one on at the time I was passing him.

BJ has posted it before, or I did, when we were posting lots of Smiths. Maybe before your time.

Byrne and Eno consider the songs on this album to be "spirituals" and I agree even if they don't follow the musical conventions of church music. They do evoke a sense that we are in a vale of tears, and a longing for something better, some unseen eternity. But in the meantime we must live in the now: the past is gone, the future unknown. These are songs by people who have lost loved ones, have lost jobs, have had good relationships end, have aged and watched their mental and physical powers slip away, their senses dim. All we can do is plod forward step by step until our time is done, whether that comes as a surprise or a long terminal illness. And just that plodding forward is an act of courage.

I ride on a perfect freeway
          Many people on that road
I heard the sound of someone laughing
I saw my neighbor's car explode

          Just up ahead
          Against the sky
Quicker than you blink your eye

Oh my brother, I still wonder, are you alright?
And among the living, we are giving, all through the night

From the milk of human kindness
From the breast we all partake
          Hungry for a social contract
She welcomes you with dark embrace

          (puts) socks and shoes
          Upon our feet
          Little fishes swim upstream

Oh my brother, I still wonder, are you alright?
In the deepest silence, gold and diamonds, all through the night

Everything that happens will happen today
And nothing has changed, but nothing's the same
And every tomorrow could be yesterday
And everything that happens will happen today

Everything that happens will happen today
And nothing has changed, but nothing's the same
And every tomorrow could be yesterday
Everything that happens could happen today

          I'll build a house - of water
I'm searching high - and low
          Underneath the waves
Where they hit the rocky shore
          Out by the lighthouse

          Heard nature say
          "I'm sorry -
For stones and trees down below
For those who tumble in God's name
          To an early grave
          Into the sea and foam
Like ships tossed in a storm"
          And I'm standing all alone
          Out by the lighthouse

          I'll build a house - of paper
Covered with words I could read
She had to teach me what to say
          But every year we stayed
          Out by the lighthouse

          I'll build a house - so level
With seven walls - long and true
The day we raised that roof up high
          Unto the fading light
We sang the whole night through
          No one needed proof
And I could see the moon
          Out by the lighthouse

This sounds like it is from 1965. Like early Beatles.

Throw the world off your shoulders tonight Mr. Smith
Throw the world off your shoulders tonight Mr. Smith

            He's been looking now
            For a long time
It seems the more he looks
The less he wants to see

            He turned to the west
            For a long time
            He turned to the east
Then he turned to the west again

If there's a heaven above, in the meantime
If there's a heaven above, let it be near
If there's a heaven above, in the meantime
Then let it be near, let it be near to me

            We've been talking now
            For a long time
It seems the more we speak
The less we seem to say

            If there's a hell below
            In the meantime
            Then let us shut up
            Unless we want to pray

He saw everything a little too clearly
So close that the bones would show
And to see everything so clearly
Isn't always the best thing you know

If there's a heaven above, in the meantime
If there's a heaven above then let it be near
If there's a heaven above, in the meantime
Let it be near, let it be near to me

                    Missing....missing....missing....

One of our submarines is missing tonight
Seems she ran aground on manoeuvres
                    One of our submarines

                    A hungry heart
                    To regulate their breathing
                    One more night
The Winter Boys are freezing in their spam tin

                    The Baltic moon
                    Along the northern seaboard
                    And down below
The Winter Boys are waiting for the storm

                    Bye-bye empire, empire bye-bye
Shallow water - channel and tide

And I can trace my history
Down one generation to my home
                    In one of our submarines
                    One of our submarines

The red lights flicker, sonar weak
                    Air valves hissing open
                    Half her pressure blown away
                    Flounder in the ocean

                    See the Winter Boys
Drinking heavy water from a stone

                    Bye-bye empire, empire bye-bye
Shallow water - channel and tide

                    Bye-bye empire, empire bye-bye
Tired illusion drown in the night

And I can trace my history
Down one generation to my home
                    In one of our submarines

                    One of our submarines
                    One of our submarines

                    We climb the cliffs
                    And hang from trees
Wrap the rocks and pave the beach
State of shock at flick of switch

                    (Mindless)
                    Into the cloudburst overhead
I wanna get my face wet
It's been buried in the sand for years

                    (Headlong)
                    Into the cloudburst naked
                    There's really no escaping it
There's gonna be a cloudburst here

                    Come out of your shell
                    And look at the sea
It may be just as well
                    You stayed here with me
Private hell at turn of key

                    (Blindly)
                    Into the cloudburst overhead
I wanna get my face wet
It's been buried in the sand for years

                    (Mindless)
                    Into the cloudburst naked
                    There's really no escaping it
There's gonna be a cloudburst here

                    (Headlong)
                    Into the cloudburst overhead
I wanna get my face wet
It's been buried in these hands for years

                    (Blindly)
                    Into the cloudburst naked
                    There's really no escaping it
There's gonna be a cloudburst here

                    And it's dawning on me
I've been a cork in the ocean, been bobbing in the North Sea
Then take this vest of plaster, these boots of concrete
And mark 'em down as surplus, return to Mulberry

                    Cloudburst at Shingle Street
                    Cloudburst at Shingle Street
                    Cloudburst at Shingle Street

                    When I was small
                    I was in love
                    In love with everything
                    Now there's only you

                      Nice cover

Time and again I tell myself
                      I'll stay clean tonight
But the little green wheels are following me
                      Oh no, not again
I'm stuck with a valuable friend
"I'm happy, hope you're happy too"
One flash of light but no smoking pistol

Ashes to ashes, funk to funky
