    Open-world LazyTown video game

I've just created a petition calling for an official LazyTown video game: https://www.change.org/p/develop-and...wn-video-game/

While it's largely nostalgia talking, I do really like the idea of this being a possibility. It's a nice way to mark the 20th anniversary next year for one, and I can see how it could appeal to many people, especially when you look at the popularity of that genre - the open-world, non-linear platformer. I enjoy those kinds of games anyway so this feels like something I'd enjoy too. I feel like there's so much you could do with it too, so much opportunity for content.

Good luck with that. We need people with hope. The Warner company usually doesn't listen to anyone but itself, but if you don't try you'll never know.
Magnús: - I have fans of all ages and I don't think it's weird when older people like LazyTown. LazyTown appeals to people for many different reasons: dancing, acrobatics, etc.

Yeah, I was keen to gauge what the interest is like. I'd like to think this is something people would definitely want.

I'm honestly suprised it already has 20 signatures.

I'm surprised too. I wasn't sure what the demand was like but maybe it'll get people thinking.

It would take way too much money to make a Lazytown video game. The software's you would need, and you'd need to hire voice actors and developers and coders... plus how would it be published anyways and what would it be about?

I say no to a LazyTown game unless it is official.

Not really. UE5 is still free up to a certain point (among other game engines). It's got asset packs which actually caused trouble with two game devs. One sued the other "thinking" they stole their assets but they both used UE asset packs. Some people theorize that the one dev doing the suing was just being spiteful due to the games being similar in genre.

AI could probably create the models for you based on feeding it the images of the characters. And same with the replicating voices. All you would really need is a script and story boarding.
Would be nice if you could feed the AI all the dialogue and actions of a specific characters and let the other characters you interact with organically react to you based
on the history of that character via the AI interpretation. They've already been doing that with Skyrim and companions. Even the NPCs. Long gone are the days where
an NPC guard is stuck on the last dialogue "I use to be an adventurer like you until I took an arrow to the knee" because you've depleted the NPCs scripted dialogue tree.

Now if this was just a fan project I'm sure there would be no problem with the IP owners if it's a free game unless they like the game so much they pay you
for it and you all enter into a licensing agreement for a game to sell. That would make it kind of official though not from Magnus but the company he sold it too
and who own all the rights and licensing for it.

So much potential with AI along with so many downsides. Like most of human inventions.

I find the idea of a LT video game to be pretty humorous, a kind of self-referencing joke or satire. A video game about how you should be outside physically playing instead of sitting inside playing video games....like Pixel did before Stephanie arrived. In a sense the show itself is kind of an ironic joke, a TV show about not staying inside and watching TV shows....

The only type of LT video game that I think would be in the proper spirit would be one like Pokemon Go, where you had to go outside and walk around in order to accomplish things. Something that forced you to exercise outside. Or something VR like Beat Saber that involved physically moving to music.

A game that you can just sit on the couch and play - .

True about couch potato game playing hehe

Unless it's also VR and you have to Dance and Sing like that VR Saber game

But it's you making Steph dance and sing

The whole game should just be Sportacus telling you to get off your TV and play outside.

I remember there used to be action games like Nintendo Wii Tennis, perhaps it's even on Sony Playstation. Would be cool to play against Sportacus. Interactive fitness programs could work too. Not sure if you can call them games though. Lots of games are played with an app on a smartphone or with software on computer. It's better to specify on what platform you want the game to be on, what kind of a game you have in mind etc. Show examples.

What is a 'video game' anyway?

In the description I said how I can see it being an open-world type platformer (like a Mario Odyssey) or an action-adventure type (Simpsons Hit & Run). That's the sort of thing I like to play anyway, and I see it being on all the platforms (home consoles, PC).

You're right, it was there on the actual site itself. Thanks for explaining to a total n00b in gaming.

That would make the kids cry LOL... then all the moms would give it a 1 star rating

(my mom would turn off the TV and tell me to listen to him)
