Um, there were no memes back then, or web browsers for that matter. The term was used in sports journalism, it had nothing to do with kids, or slang.

I lived through the period. I used Netscape 1.0 when it came out. Lynx was a curiosity, a text-only browser. The Internet was basically confined to university students and professors, and some AOL subscribers who got access to Usenet and email.
There were no memes. There were barely any web sites at all and none of them were Web 2.0 sites where users could post things like memes. There was no social media.
I'm not going to waste any more time arguing about a term that was in use long before you were born.l i t t l e s t e p h e r sComment

It's not 12 bucks, it's 14, and it's per month, or 168 a year.
I don't think I watch YouTube nearly as much as some people. I prefer to read things, or listen to music. I have a very large mp3 collection and CD collection as well as DVD collection, and have Max (which I hardly ever watch, I mostly get it so my mom can watch it at her home) and Netflix (which my Mom gets, and I can watch it, but hardly ever do).
Also it's annoying because YouTube does not create the content, or even buy it, they are making money off content other people create and upload.

13.24 German dollars is 22.01 Australian dollars. Plus I don't have a credit card, and imagine paying just for some website with crappy moderation and an ugly UI where you watch videos. Sure, everyone uses it, but why pay to watch videos? VLC is free. Bitview is free.Comment

Didn't realize until I tested the videos after posting as I always do. I just left it. Usually I'll try to find one that doesn't
have such restrictions. Either age or region.Comment
