It still is far from the hottest waters where it will gather substantial energy.

It looks like the Philippines really get hit hard by Cat 5 cyclones, holy cow. I wonder what they call them. Typhoons?

Looks like Erin will be Cat 4 when it goes by Puerto Rico. I bet they are glad it is veering away.

A Cat 5 monster. Puerto Rico is very glad it is to the north.

Nearly 155,000 utility customers are without power in Puerto Rico as Category 3 Hurricane Erin batters the Caribbean, bringing heavy rainfall and gusty winds to Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.

Looks like it discharged some of its Cat 5 power on Puerto Rico and now is Cat 3 but strengthening again

Ah crap. This one has a more sinister trajectory.

Except for the islands, looks like it's on track to miss the mainland.

I was talking about the new orange one following Erin.

It went from category 5 to 2, it's now closest to land I guess. If ERIN goes straight ahead it will hit Washington and NY, but unlikely.
There is a new one in the make 99L, just left Africa.

Magnรบs: - I have fans of all ages and I don't think it's weird when older people like LazyTown. LazyTown appeals to people for many different reasons: dancing, acrobatics, etc.

Yes I think the North Carolina beaches are going to get winds and rain but the main force of the storm is staying out to sea fortunately.

More in the pipeline but the next one has a promising trajectory as well.

Already pushing the funky southern air up here.
Wet and humid today. Heat coming back tomorrow or Friday.
Supposedly in the 80s. Still quite chilly today in the 60s but very moist.

                    Right now:
                    Precipitation: 50%
                    Humidity: 90%

The Pink line is when it was Cat 5 (towards bottom right). Red = Cat 4. Orange = Cat 3.

Erin is now one of the largest storms ever recorded in the Atlantic. Over 500 miles across.
