Well they are it again. Youtube with the Anti ad block.
Should have known something was going to be up today
when I turned on the smart TV last night going to bed and clicked
on youtube. It began to load then it stalled and the TV went
into two reboot loops. When it came back to the main screen,
I clicked on youtube and it reinstalled the youtube app. It updated.

Not a big deal though I have a work around until the browser updates
    with their work around.

BTW the Youtube Anti Ad Block only works when you are logged in to your account
trying to watch videos. They are giving you three chances otherwise to either turn
off ad blocking or whitelist youtube before "we disable the playback feature."

What is your work around? I don't know how your smart TV works, you don't have an ad blocker on your TV do you?

Keep in mind I got the "ad blockers not allowed" thing and I don't even have a YouTube account. I never sign into Google anything.

Nope unfortunately no ad blockers for Roku devices. Smart Tv or otherwise.
I never login to my youtube account on the youtube TV app.

Well right now I'm just watching videos while logged out so far no ad block alert.
I'm using my laptop while logged into youtube but not playing the video
this way I have access to my notification list. I can thumbs up and comment.
As long as I don't play the video while logged in. I then just watch the video
on the PC. I'm down to one more ad block alert before the player will be blocked.
Don't even know if that's permanent or just per day.

I could probably just use two different browsers too but I'm being lazy right now
means I have to dig out my password book and login to youtube with the second browser.

I guess I don't understand why you mentioned that the TV updated. There is no ad blocker on the TV, so it plays ads, what difference does it make if it updates the app on the TV?

I then just watch the video on the PC.
Did you mean "on the TV, with ads" ?

Whenever Youtube adds updates to their main system, they also update the apps.
Forced updates. They definitely updated their main system to make it more
aggressive with the anti ad blocking. And the timer to skip ads (at least they give you that option. Some of those ads can be very long.)
on the app has changed. So they updated that as well.

Yup tv with ads. Doesn't matter I fall asleep to it anyway. Usually, I listen to the audio books or science stuff.
            Not too many ads.

One of the cool improvements Youtube has done is allow chapter markers in the videos.
I'd figured you'd just skip. Don't have to watch the whole thing. I usually end up doing that.
17:00 "Do you know what we need Sam" "Is it a cup of tea?" "is a cup of tea" 😁

When you click on the video, the timeline is broken up into chapters.
What I sometimes do is skip around the different chapters.

Example as you can see the different chapter titles

Click image for larger version Name:	Chap01.png Views:	0 Size:	428.0 KB ID:	193521

Click image for larger version Name:	Chap02.png Views:	0 Size:	412.8 KB ID:	193522

I'll preview a chapter if it's something that seems interesting, I'll watch it.
Then I'll check the other chapters and watch accordingly. That's if I just let these
long videos just run in the background listening to it while I'm working on other stuff.

It's one feature that Youtube added that's actually worth something heh.
Not everyone does the chapter option though. I don't remember exactly
when Youtube implemented the feature but it wasn't that long ago.

You mean you click and drag the little red ball throughout the video looking for interesting things?

The red ball isn't involved at that time yet. Just the mouse cursor moving over the timeline. As you hit each chapter segment, it'll
pop out the segmented chapter a little with the chapter title. I'll just click on a spot and the red ball will shoot to that position and being playing
the vid from that point. But yeah it'll be for looking for something interesting. It depends on my mood.

                        Well, I don't do that.

If someone links a video I assume they want me to watch the whole thing, or else they would mention a particular time to skip to.

YouTube seems to have changed its layout so there are tons of ads for videos below the video you're watching. And the comment section squished on the right. I zoomed out to show what you see as you scroll down the page.

You know Youtube hasn't bothered me with the ad blocker threat since that last incident. Hmmm.
Is that image from the computer browser main page? Looks like a cell phone actually more Instagram format.
Well that kinda makes sense they began competing with Tik Tok with the Shorts.

I just loaded up bing since I'm not logged in to get the main page and looks normal
The Roku TV looks the same too. Hmmm?

Magnús: - I have fans of all ages and I don't think it's weird when older people like LazyTown. LazyTown appeals to people for many different reasons: dancing, acrobatics, etc.
