Been working hard. Looks easy but it wasn't. Getting the holes smooth as I could after cutting them. Threw some artificial lights on it to show it off better. After watching certain scenes over and over again I'm pretty sure I got as close as possible to actual scale of things.
All in good time... all in good time. IT'S STEPHER TIME
Sorry, got carried away by the incredible progress you've made since the very first screenshot I saw of this. :)[/quote:ac213]
Hey get carried away. I am myself. I'm surprised it's coming out so good myself. I thought it was going to look like total crap when I first started being my first model and all. I love how the gondola has turned out so far. I'm setting up some more shots of inside and out I'm so pleased with it. :)
I spent the last week rebuilding my system. Not the hardware but the software. Thanks to some new ATI video drivers the xp install decided to start melting. So, a very long overdue backup of my system at 2 days and 120 gigs worth of poop. Not the airship though, I do backups on that regularly. Took me the rest of last week to get everything else back up and running.
Onward and upward now.
I also spent a very long time looking for just the right floor texture for the airship floor. I think this one is nearly dead on. Remember there is no lighting in the airship as of yet and the floor is picking up the ambient light. Anyway, here's a small update. I hope to finish up the window grill work and the circular wall panels by the end of the week.
Wow, man thats great work. Do you do stuff like this for a living?
Also Kudos to you for the Bowie quote. Man Who Sold the World, is one of my favorite albums.
Most folks only remeber "Let's Dance"

Nope this is my first model actually. I have tinkered with it before but nothing ever this serious.
The early bowie stuff is the best.
And thanks :)
I said to nindan earlier I wonder if I left the wood out in the 3d sun would it get that nice used bleach look like you see in the reference photo. Maybe throw in some 3d storms to give the weather look a nice touch.
