Interesting article however it's assuming a lot in terms of Dinosaur biology which the scientists are still debating about. We don't know if they were cold blooded, warm blooded or something in between or something else entirely. The Earth's history is replete with cycles of mass extinctions. It's a highly complex issue with no one real cause. Asteroids, variations in the Earth's orbit closer or further away from the sun, Variations in the Sun's energy output, Earth's magnetic poles shifting and flipping, Earth's geological activity, Ocean currents etc... Heck for all we know even the position of the solar system in the galaxy may have profound effect.
Speaking of the shifting poles it's happening now which may be the reason for the issues of the animals
