Shooters are fun on the Wii! I've only tried the Shooting Range minigame in Wii Play so far...it's like a Duck Hunt sequel, you can shoot ducks in the background that look like the Duck Hunt ducks for bonus points. You can dual-wield Wiimotes in that game, though my shooting isn't so good with my left hand.

Yesh! The wii is fantastic! Try Wiiplay at the store. I'm sure they'll have a demo up. There's a couple shooters on there. ^^

Well, the game stores DO have some Wii kiosks. But they won't lend you the controller to play with without some kind of legal ID. How lame :/ Like you're actually going to walk out of the store with it.
