Anyone thought of translating Latibaer?
I'm still REALLY new to this language, so if there's one that's too hard for me (Aldrei Gleyma Því was one of those ;_; ) I won't be able to do it.
But I will try. I'm curious about Lifið, so I´ll try to do that next (right now I'm in the middle of Íþrótaálfurinn from Áfram, though). But I'm still kind of limited by when people who know a good amount of Icelandic can check it to make sure I did it right. ^^; That adds a bit of time, unfortunately.

Do Lífið er svo létt next
Words are similiar to: Life is so light, but light can be easy, simple too. Could be life is so easy if that sounds better.- Translate

Hehe nice. I am always amused as to how literally they translate, and how silly they sound because of it.

Solla Stirða is my name
Clumsy and awkward
Solla Stirða here I come
limping with my legs made of lead
I want so much to become lithe
To go and play and do splits.
?
I´m not able to run around
With the children
Nor walk upstairs because my joints lock
(spoken) ?See, I am only stiff.
?But I want so much to become lithe.
?To go and play and do splits.
(Spoken)But I´m just not able to.

Yet I´m still not able to tie my shoes myself.

Not sure if this belongs here- someone can delete it if it doesn´t. Anyways, I´ve been trying to translate the old Icelandic plays for practice, and so english speakers can understand it, and here´s what I came up with for the song "Solla Stirða" from Áfram Latibær. You should recognize the tune ;)

(I added youtube notes because I noticed that the words came out really fuzzy. I think they're mostly legible, but I didn't want to risk it. -_- stupid iMovie exporting)- Translate

You may link to them, if you wish. I really don't want them reposted elsewhere. They won't ever be deleted, so there's no worry of links going bad.- Translate
