I remember one of my LJ friends had her site (which is mostly her Star Trek fic) made 'Awful link of the day' a few years ago with commentary that basically went "hur, hur, hur, she made Kirk and Spock gay." How she found out? Legions of limited-literacy trolls on her guest book abusing her for writing K/S, as if she invented it, as opposed to being one of the youngest members of the oldest modern-style fandom.
